Catelynn
I was laying on a beautiful bed of white silk linens. The room had such a comfortable breeze and smelled of fresh roses. A handsome Prince walked into the room. The stereotypical Prince with the sun-kissed skin, eyes the colour of emeralds, and beautiful blond locks that even Cupid would envy. It was as if Aphrodite had bared a son and placed him on earth. Surely not my type of man, I enjoyed mine roughed up but...boy was he dreamy and...well he was in the same room as me. Why would I complain? The unknown Prince smirked at me and started to slowly walk over to me...
Everything was a haze when I woke up.
Ugh, why did I have to wake up...
I looked around the room.
Why were there people in your room when it was still night time? Why was everyone rushing around? Why were they all whispering?
So many questions swirled around in my head.
I slowly sat up in my bed. My handmaiden, Vermiah, noticed that I was finally awake and rushed over to the side of the bed. I wanted to ask her what was happening but she put her finger up to her mouth and shushed me!
The nerve with that lady! What was with all the secretiveness. What was going on?
Vermiah urged me to get out of bed. She then handed me some clothes. These were not my normal attire. The outfit handed to me was one of a commoner. It was to early to complain. I put on the outfit while Vermiah checked on up the rest of the maids in the room. Vermiah, after noticing I was done changing, headed back over to me with a suitcase in hand.
So it looks like I'm heading on a trip and I only get one suitcase...great. They better have put my makeup in there.
She gestured me to the door of my bedroom and we left. We rushed quickly through the back hallways of the castle.
When will someone explain to me what was happening?
At last, we arrived outside. We were at the entrance of the Kingdom's forest. The King, my Father, and the Head Wizard were waiting for me. The Wizard, Zirik, smiled at Vermiah and spoke...
"Thank you Vermiah for getting the Princess ready. Your duty is done. You may now head back inside and prepare for what happens next." Vermiah curtsied and headed back towards the castle.
"Catelynn, I am deeply sorry for all of this," my Father spoke, "but this is for your safety..."
My father took a long pause.
"There is a great evil coming for the Kingdom and we are sending you away."
"but..why can't you come with me?" I proclaimed.
"I have to stay here and be strong for my people. Please stay strong for me Catelynn."
Were there tears in my father's eyes? There can't be. He was never the one to cry. He only cried once and that was when my mother passed away...
"Okay Catelynn, you must be heading out now before things get worse. I will summon some spirits to protect you in the forest. On the other side of the forest, a carriage will be waiting to take you to the Princess Academy." said Zirik
Did he say things will get worse? Oh no. What will happen to the Kingdom...my father...
My father handed me letter stating my acceptance to the academy and gave me a hug. Zirik then summoned a wolf and a female sorceress for my travels.
"Goodbye. I love you both. Please stay safe." I said to both of them before I headed out towards the forest.
Don't cry. You are a strong independent woman. Well just don't let anyone see you cry...
